Deep Purple return to Athens on October 13, 2026, for a headline performance at Telekom Center Athens, joined by rising UK rock band Jayler as special guests.
More than five decades after helping shape the sound of hard rock, Deep Purple are returning to Greece this October for a major live performance at Telekom Center Athens.
The legendary British band will take the stage on Tuesday, October 13, bringing a catalogue that spans generations — from defining classics such as “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star” and “Child in Time” to material from their latest studio album, =1.
More Than Five Decades of Deep Purple
Few bands have left a mark on hard rock quite like Deep Purple. Formed in 1968, the band became one of the defining forces of the genre during the early 1970s, with albums such as Deep Purple in Rock, Machine Head and Made in Japanestablishing a musical legacy that continues to influence rock and metal musicians today.
The current Deep Purple line-up features Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey and Simon McBride. Gillan, Glover and Paice remain from the celebrated Mark II line-up responsible for some of the band’s most enduring recordings, while Airey has occupied the keyboard position since Jon Lord’s retirement and McBride joined the band following Steve Morse’s departure.
Deep Purple in 2026
Rather than relying solely on their extensive back catalogue, Deep Purple remain an active recording band. Their 2024 album =1 marked their first studio album with guitarist Simon McBride and continued the band’s long-running collaboration with producer Bob Ezrin.
Their music continues to reach new generations as well. The band’s 1970 epic “Child in Time” recently received renewed attention through its use in the Stranger Things Season 5 trailer, more than five decades after its original release.
Jayler Join as Special Guests
Opening the Athens show will be Jayler, a young British rock band representing a considerably newer generation of UK rock.
Their appearance alongside Deep Purple creates an interesting contrast between a band whose history stretches back to the late 1960s and musicians beginning to establish themselves more than half a century later.

With Gillan, Glover and Paice still at the heart of the band and Deep Purple continuing to record and tour internationally, the October show offers Greek audiences another opportunity to experience one of hard rock’s most enduring names live.
